Werribee District 4WD Club proudly supports Murdoch Children’s Research Institute
Driving together for a healthier future for children
Werribee District 4WD Club is proud to announce the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) as our charitable partner.
As a family-focused club, supporting an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of children and families is something that strongly aligns with our community values. Through this partnership, we hope to use the strength of our club, members, sponsors and wider 4WD community to help make a meaningful difference.

About MCRI
MCRI is Australia’s largest child health research institute and is home to more than 1,800 researchers working across more than 150 common and rare childhood diseases and conditions.
Their purpose is simple but powerful: to give all children the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilled life.
MCRI researchers tackle some of the biggest health challenges facing babies, children and adolescents. Their work spans areas including:
- childhood cancer and genetic disorders
- allergies and asthma
- diabetes
- premature birth and high-risk infants
- heart and kidney disease
- brain injury and concussion
- autism and neurodevelopment
- mental health and adolescent wellbeing
- infectious diseases and vaccines
- rare diseases and previously undiagnosed conditions.
Importantly, MCRI's work doesn't stop at research in a laboratory. Many MCRI researchers are also clinicians at The Royal Children's Hospital, helping connect research with the real challenges experienced by children and families and translate discoveries into better diagnosis, treatment and care.
From developing new treatments and improving the way childhood diseases are diagnosed, to trialling vaccines and investigating ways to prevent illness before it begins, MCRI research is helping improve the lives of children in Australia and around the world.
Our club's commitment
Throughout the year, Werribee District 4WD Club will be looking for opportunities to raise funds and awareness for MCRI through club activities, events and initiatives.
We will also be working with our valued sponsors, members and supporters to help get behind this important cause.
For us, four-wheel driving has always been about more than the vehicles. It's about community, mateship, families and helping each other out.
By supporting MCRI, we're extending those values beyond the tracks and campsites and helping support research that can create healthier futures for children and families.
We look forward to sharing more about our fundraising initiatives soon and, most importantly, seeing what our club community can achieve when we get behind a cause together.
