Each year, seasonal track closures are implemented across many Victorian State Forests to protect tracks and surrounding environments during the wetter months. These closures play an important role in reducing erosion, preventing track damage and ensuring public safety while allowing affected areas time to recover.
As responsible four-wheel drivers, Werribee & District 4WD Club members are encouraged to respect all seasonal closures and stay informed before heading out on a trip. While closures may sometimes impact planned adventures, they help preserve access to our favourite destinations for future generations of recreational users.
Before every trip, members should check the latest information from forest managers and land authorities, as closure dates and affected tracks can change depending on weather and local conditions. By staying on designated open tracks and respecting closures, we demonstrate the values of responsible four-wheel driving and help maintain positive relationships between the four-wheel drive community, land managers and the broader public.
Thank you to all members for doing the right thing and helping protect the tracks and forests we all enjoy.
Remember: If the gate is closed, the track is closed. Respect the closure, plan an alternative route and help keep Victoria's track network sustainable for years to come.
